Release, remember, realign.

Like most powerful and profound things in life, the fundamentals of Mitzvah are quite simple. The first step is to relax the mind and release tension in the body. With patience and practice, someone studying Mitzvah can remember and recreate the fluid way that they used to move when they were a child. Ultimately, the goal is for the body to return to its original state and regain its natural alignment.

Mitzvah can enable you to reclaim the relationship you had with your body when you were young: to feel the way you did before stiff shoulders and headaches disrupted your daily life; to jump around with abandon, free from back problems, aches, and pains; and to overcome the bad habits that began when you were told to “sit up straight” and to “stop fidgeting” in school.

With the guidance of a trained Mitzvah teacher, you can un-learn poor postural behaviours and encourage muscles to work harmoniously together. By guiding your movements through a series of sitting, walking, and “letting go” exercises, the instructor will help you discover the most efficient ways of moving your body. Over time, you will begin to work with gravity instead of against it, holding your head in proper alignment to protect the neck, releasing your arms so that they hang freely by your sides, and loosening your hip joints from unconscious tightening. With dedicated Mitzvah practice, your body will become adept at the powerful art of releasing tension.

凝り固まってしまった筋肉を緩めれば幼児時代に知っていた流動的なからだの使い方を思い出して、からだはもとの自然な状態に戻ります。
若くて肩こりや頭痛を知らなかった時、腰の痛みが何かわからずにぴょんぴょん飛び跳ねていた時。 このテクニックを実践してそんな時に戻ってみませんか。
頭をもたげず、首の筋肉を緩めるだけで、腕を自重に任せているだけで、股関節を緊張させずに自由にゆらゆらさせているだけで、緩めることをずっと前から知っていた、と身体は気づき始めます。
シンプルなからだの動かし方(脱力する・座る・歩く)をガイドすることによって、ゆるんだ後、身体にほんとうにいい動きが身につきます。
