“The art of letting go”
The body will return to its original state and regain its natural alignment
About Natural Posture
The technique we practice is called ‘Mitzvah Technique’ which is based on ‘Alexander Technique’. ‘Alexander Technique’ was born in Australia in 1868. ‘Alexander Technique’ is widely known and exercised by professional performers such as dancers, actors/actresses, and musicians of Europe and North America. ‘Mitzvah Technique’ was founded by Nehemia Cohen who was a ‘Alexander Technique’ teacher reside in Toronto Canada. Compare with Alexander Technique’, ‘Mitzvah Technique’ is emphasized on the experience of the mechanism of the body, rather than on theory. Any subtle movements of our body can be interplay with our spine fluidly, that leads our head remounting onto our spine. And it releases our neck muscles which tend to tense up easily with upright position. Natural Postureが実践するミツヴァテクニックというボディーワークとは、1868年ごろオーストラリアで生まれたアレクサンダーテクニックをベースとしたもので、イギリス・ロンドンを拠点にし、ダンサ...

Q and A
日本語版はこちらから Q01. What would make Mitzvah Technique differ from Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Massages? A01. In general, the fundamental difference is that Mitzvah Technique is the learning process to enhance adjusting abilities of our body system by nature. In contrast, those therapies tend to be beneficial only by Therapists’ work. Therefore, with our technique, you would improve your abilities to obtain better conditions as you take more lessons. With other methods, therapies may be often short term solutions. Q02. What type of symptoms and conditions is this technique suitable for? A02. We believe that the symptoms are the mere indicators of unnatural disordered conditions of your body system. Usually, people tend to focus only on the symptoms and try to cure the particular problematic area although the real cause can be hidden in somewhere else. In order to improve your condition, it would be more effective to work on your body as a whole to encourage your healing and adjusting abilities. Therefore, it would be beneficial for people: who are preventing and recovering from injuries, who have chronic pains, who are diagnosed with specific illness, and even who simply wish to improve their posture. Q03. How often and how long shall we take lessons? A03. Although many people who had the first lesson experienced immediate remarkable results (release, well body balance, and reduction of pain), we recommend you to take at least 10 times consecutively, since this technique is a learning process, not a...

RELEASE, REMEMBER, REALIGN
Release, remember, realign. Like most powerful and profound things in life, the fundamentals of Mitzvah are quite simple. The first step is to relax the mind and release tension in the body. With patience and practice, someone studying Mitzvah can remember and recreate the fluid way that they used to move when they were a child. Ultimately, the goal is for the body to return to its original state and regain its natural alignment. Mitzvah can enable you to reclaim the relationship you had with your body when you were young: to feel the way you did before stiff shoulders and headaches disrupted your daily life; to jump around with abandon, free from back problems, aches, and pains; and to overcome the bad habits that began when you were told to “sit up straight” and to “stop fidgeting” in school. With the guidance of a trained Mitzvah teacher, you can un-learn poor postural behaviours and encourage muscles to work harmoniously together. By guiding your movements through a series of sitting, walking, and “letting go” exercises, the instructor will help you discover the most efficient ways of moving your body. Over time, you will begin to work with gravity instead of against it, holding your head in proper alignment to protect the neck, releasing your arms so that they hang freely by your sides, and loosening your hip joints from unconscious tightening. With dedicated Mitzvah practice, your body will become adept at the powerful art...
